Date of Posting: 17-05-2010

ARTLINKS is pleased to announce the awarding of €30,000 in bursaries in the five ArtLinks partner Counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow for 2010. Bursaries were judged by an external panel of experts not resident in the five county region and the panel commended the quality of applications received.

ArtLinks Director Cathy Fitzgerald thanks everyone who took the time to submit applications and said that the awarding of more than one bursary in each county means that more artists can be supported in these challenging economic times.

ARTLINKS  SUITE OF BURSARY AWARDS FOR 2010 TOTALING E30,000

ARTLINKS announced a suite of bursaries and awards for its membership in the five ArtLinks partner Counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow for 2010 on 27 Feb. Director Cathy Fitzgerald remarked that there had been changes in 2010 to the ArtLinks Bursaries to reflect the changed economic climate. While the amounts of funds available for Bursaries had not changed significantly, the Awards had been divided so instead of one main bursary there would be in fact four bursaries, so that more people in the arts can be supported. And new for 2010, in addition to applications being accepted from individual practitioners, applications from artist-led groups are also welcome.  April 1st was the closing date.

Four ArtLinks Bursaries per County

Four ArtLinks Bursary Awards will be awarded per ArtLinks partner counties, to a successful practitioner or artist-led group in the categories of dance, music, drama/theatre, literature, film and visual arts. There is one Award available for a maximum of E3,000 and three awards for a maximum of E1,000 available per county. These awards are designed to support the professional development of creative practitioners, or groups, aged 18 and over, who are resident within the ArtLinks five county partnership region.
